IMPAX Client is a clinical imaging workstation used to access and manage studies in a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). It enables radiologists and clinicians to view and analyze DICOM images from multiple modalities, including CT, MR, X-ray, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. Core capabilities typically include customizable hanging protocols, multi-monitor layouts, prior study comparison, measurement and annotation tools, cine playback, and, where licensed, advanced visualization such as MPR/MIP. The client integrates with hospital systems via DICOM and HL7 to support worklists, reporting workflows, and result distribution. It generally offers role-based access, auditing, and privacy controls to meet clinical governance requirements.
